‘Game of Thrones’ Actor Suffers Tragic News, Passes Away at 35
Michael Patrick, an Irish actor who appeared in the sixth season of ‘Game of Thrones’ and worked as both a writer and actor, sadly passed away on April 8th at the young age of 35.

Michael’s wife, Naomi Sheehan, painfully confirmed the news on social media. She revealed that Michael was diagnosed with Motor Neurone Disease (MND, ALS being the most common form) in February 2023. This is a currently incurable and fatal disease that rapidly attacks the nerves controlling movement, leading to gradual muscle atrophy, paralysis, and ultimately affecting walking, eating, and breathing.
“Last night, Michael passed away peacefully in a hospice in Northern Ireland surrounded by his family and friends,” Naomi wrote. “Words cannot express the devastation we are all feeling. He was an inspiration to everyone he met, living his life to the fullest, even during his illness. He was always so incredibly brave.”
Michael Patrick was exceptionally talented, graduating from Cambridge University and having been a member of the renowned “Cambridge Footlights” comedy troupe. In addition to making an impression on audiences in ‘Game of Thrones,’ he was a co-writer and star of the BBC series ‘My Left Nut,’ which was based on his own teenage experiences. His final work is the television film ‘Mordlichtern,’ scheduled to premiere in 2025.
In February of this year, Michael posted on social media, revealing that doctors estimated he had only a year to live, but he still stated: “There’s so much living to do, and so many plans to make.” Sadly, the illness ultimately took this talented young man sooner than expected.
