Robot Traffic Police Appear on Streets of Wuxi, Can Direct Traffic and Pose for Photos
Robot traffic police have appeared on the streets of Wuxi, Jiangsu Province, officially starting their duties at intersections. Related videos have gone viral online, with many passersby finding them novel and interesting. This robot traffic police is not just for show and can genuinely participate in traffic management.

It first appeared at the 2026 Wuxi Marathon event and, after functional upgrades, officially began working on the roads. Currently, Wuxi has deployed two robot traffic police for pilot operation.
The robot is 1.75 meters tall and weighs 70 kilograms, with an overall appearance similar to a real traffic police officer. A single charge allows it to work continuously for approximately 5 hours, sufficient to support daily intersection duty requirements.
Its capabilities are comprehensive, able to automatically make standard traffic control gestures, as regulated as those of human traffic police.
When encountering traffic violations, it can promptly provide guidance and remind pedestrians to follow the rules. If citizens inquire about road conditions or traffic management-related issues, it can also respond and answer normally.
Many citizens are attracted by this special traffic police officer when passing through the intersection, with many stopping to take photos and videos. Some even proactively approach and take pictures with the robot traffic police. Faced with everyone's photo requests, the robot will also make a "V" sign, with a strong sense of interaction, creating a very cute scene.
This combination of intelligent technology and daily traffic management is both novel and practical, and many netizens have sighed that technological development has truly changed lives.
