Microsoft Distributes Spring Benefits: Free Xbox Gift Cards
Microsoft is giving free digital gift cards to some Xbox users as a limited-time spring benefit. Several players have reported receiving an official message on their Xbox consoles containing a gift code redeemable in the Microsoft Store.
According to screenshots shared by users, lucky players in the US received a $5 gift card, while users in the UK received a £4 gift card.
This balance can be used to purchase games, add-ons, or apps in the Microsoft Store and must be used within 30 days of redemption. The gift code expires on May 2, 2026.
How to check if you've been selected? It's simple: turn on your Xbox console, press the navigation button on your controller, and go to Parties & chat then to the chat interface.
If you see an official message from the Xbox team mentioning a spring refresh and special offers, click to view the offers and rewards page and complete the redemption. PC and Xbox Cloud Gaming users can also check the message board in the menu.
This benefit was not announced in advance, and eligibility appears to be linked to region, account activity, or past spending habits.
From the feedback, not all users will receive this gift card. Microsoft has launched similar random reward activities before, but they have always been low-key and only open to specific accounts.
In addition to this spring benefit, Microsoft previously announced the Ultimate Campus Package for students: purchasing a qualifying Windows 11 PC will receive over $500 worth of gifts. This includes 1 year of Microsoft 365 Premium, 1 year of Xbox Game Pass Ultimate, and a custom Xbox controller.
