AM4 10th Anniversary Edition Packaging Leaked, Specs Unchanged, Launching in Q2
Following news yesterday that the AMD Ryzen 7 5800X3D will be re-released, @9550pro has leaked the retail packaging for the chip, confirming the existence of the AM4 10th Anniversary Edition, expected to launch officially in Q2 2024. The packaging design is basically the same as the original, with the addition of a "10-YearAM4Anniversary" commemorative mark at the bottom.
In terms of chip parameters, the 10th Anniversary Edition is exactly the same as the original: Zen 3 architecture, 8 cores and 16 threads, a maximum boost frequency of 4.5GHz, and equipped with 96MB L3 cache.
The 5800X3D was AMD's first processor to feature 3D V-Cache technology, increasing the cache capacity from 32MB to 96MB through additional L3 cache chips.
When the 5800X3D was released, its gaming performance easily surpassed all high-end models in the Ryzen 5000 series, and even competed with the Ryzen 7000 series.
With DDR5 prices remaining high, the AM4 platform based on DDR4 has become the most cost-effective choice. Considering the market response when the original was released and the current trend of DDR5 prices, as long as the pricing is reasonable, this veteran will still have considerable market demand upon its return.
