SK Hynix Begins Mass Production of 192GB SOCAMM2 Memory Module, Doubling Bandwidth and Improving Energy Efficiency by Over 75%
SK Hynix announced today that it has begun mass production of 192GB SOCAMM2 memory modules. Based on 1cnm process (6th generation 10nm technology) LPDDR5X low-power DRAM, this product represents the next generation of memory module standards.

SOCAMM2 is a new type of module that adapts low-power memory originally used in mobile products like smartphones to server environments. It is designed as a main memory solution for next-generation AI servers.
It features a slim form factor with high scalability, a compressed connector for improved signal integrity, and ease of module replacement.
Compared to conventional RDIMMs, SK Hynix emphasizes that the mass-produced SOCAMM2 offers more than double the bandwidth and over 75% improved energy efficiency, providing an optimized solution for high-performance AI computing.
RDIMM is a DRAM module commonly used in servers and workstations, containing registers or buffer chips to relay address and command signals between the memory controller and DRAM chips.
SK Hynix specifically pointed out that its SOCAMM2 product is designed for the NVIDIA Vera-Rubin platform.
SK Hynix expects that the new product will fundamentally solve the memory bottlenecks encountered in the training and inference of trillion-parameter large language models, thereby significantly accelerating the overall system processing speed.
As the focus of the AI market shifts from inference to training, SOCAMM2, capable of running large language models with low power consumption, is gaining widespread attention.
To meet the needs of global cloud service provider (CSP) customers, SK Hynix has stabilized its large-scale production system in advance and provides a complete product portfolio.
Justin Kim, President and Head of AI Infrastructure at SK Hynix, stated that by launching the 192GB SOCAMM2, the company has set a new standard for AI memory performance and will solidify its position as the most trusted AI memory solution provider through close collaboration with global AI customers.
