Player Banned for 10 Years After Assaulting Opponent on Stage at Awards Ceremony
A peaceful awards ceremony turned into a scandal due to a player's violent act. During the CAGGTUS event in Leipzig, Germany last weekend, a player with the ID "MAUschine" suddenly punched an opponent from the opposing team, knocking off their glasses.
The incident was fully captured by the live broadcast cameras. The footage shows the player who was hit looking confused, clearly not expecting the attack. The clip quickly went viral online, exceeding tens of thousands of views.
According to media reports covering the event, MAUschine's violent behavior may have been related to verbal provocations during the final match. It's worth noting that the tournament did not offer a cash prize; the winning team only received an invitation to a local LAN event next year.
The tournament organizers immediately responded after the incident, imposing a 10-year ban on MAUschine. The incident has also been reported to the Esports Integrity Commission (ESIC).
This is not the first time in esports history that a player has physically attacked an opponent. Previously, a player in the *Super Smash Bros. Ultimate* competition was banned after attacking an opponent following their elimination.
