Work for 7 More Days for a 5-Day Labor Day Holiday, National Highways Free
According to the General Office of the State Council's "Notice on Holiday Arrangements for Part of 2026": Labor Day, May 1st (Friday) to 5th (Tuesday) will be a 5-day holiday with adjustments, with May 9th (Saturday) being a work day to make up for the holiday. Based on the current date, working for 7 more days will start the holiday, with a make-up work day on May 9th (Saturday) after the holiday, creating an overall rhythm of "5 days off, only 1 day to make up."

During the holiday period, all national highways, toll bridges, and tunnels will be free of charge.
The free period is completely synchronized with the holiday, from 0:00 on May 1st to 24:00 on May 5th, a total of 5 days and 120 hours. The free range applies to passenger cars with 7 seats or less and legal motorcycles.
Key rule: Only the time of exiting the highway matters. If you enter the highway before 12:00 AM on April 30th and exit after 12:00 AM on May 1st, the entire journey is free.
This year's May Day holiday arrangement is more reasonable, extending from Friday to Tuesday with no interruptions, making travel and return journeys more relaxed.
The free policy covers all toll roads nationwide, and with a recent fuel price reduction, self-driving is more cost-effective.
It is expected that traffic on the highways will be heavy during the holiday. It is recommended to travel during off-peak hours and plan your route in advance.
Please note that the free period ends at 24:00 on the last day (May 5th). Try to exit the highway early during your return journey to avoid overtime charges.
