FSD Entry into China Delayed Again: Tesla Expects Approval in Q3
On April 23rd, Bloomberg reported that Tesla has once again postponed its plan to launch its most advanced assisted driving features in China. Tesla executives stated during an earnings call on Wednesday that its Full Self-Driving (FSD) system has not yet received "broader approval" in China. Tesla added that it now expects FSD to be approved in China in the third quarter.

Tesla CEO Elon Musk had previously predicted that FSD could receive commercial licensing as early as February of this year. Despite receiving partial approval and launching pilot testing more than a year ago, a nationwide rollout in China has been delayed, hindering the company's ability to leverage this key growth engine.
However, Tesla FSD recently received a key approval in the Netherlands, which will allow Tesla to accelerate the rollout of the technology in Europe.
