Konami Celebrates 40th Anniversary of Classic Cheat Code, Plans to Reintroduce it in New Games
Veteran players surely remember the classic cheat code ↑↑↓↓←→←→BA. Today, its originator, Konami, announced the start of a 40th-anniversary celebration for the code, and in addition to commemorative merchandise, the code will be reintroduced in the planning of new games.
·On April 25, 1986, the classic shooting game *Gradius* developed by Konami secretly included this cheat code for the first time. Entering the code significantly reduced the game's difficulty. Afterwards, this code became standard for Konami games and was applied to many famous titles.
·As part of the 40th-anniversary celebration of ↑↑↓↓←→←→BA, the official store will release commemorative T-shirts and phone cases, among other peripherals. Additionally, the code will be implemented in the "PROJECT ZIRCON" game support and promotion initiative. Stay tuned for more.
