Finnish Hiking Influencer Ali Leiniö Passes Away at 49, Body Found in Wilderness
The recent passing of Finnish hiking video blogger Ali Leiniö has garnered attention within the outdoor community. This influencer, who embraced hiking as a lifestyle, tragically died while hiking in the wilderness he loved, at the age of 49.

Ali Leiniö was a well-known outdoor blogger in Finland, actively posting on YouTube with nearly 88,000 loyal subscribers. He consistently published videos related to hiking, recording wilderness scenery and his hiking journey through his lens, which was deeply loved by his fans. Unlike bloggers who pursue extreme thrills, his videos had a slow and peaceful pace, often showing only him walking alone between forests and lakes, listening to birdsong and feeling the wind, conveying a love and respect for nature. He also allowed countless viewers to experience the pristine beauty of the Finnish wilderness through his perspective.
Earlier this month, Ali’s body was found in the Lapland region of Finland. It was confirmed that he was hiking and exploring in the Kasivare wilderness at the time, an area known for its extreme cold weather and remoteness, with a very dangerous natural environment. Ali suffered a fatal epileptic seizure during his hike and unfortunately passed away. His body was officially found on April 10th.
Notably, Ali’s body was found just over a week after he published his last video on YouTube. The title of his last video was "Forbidden Swamp: Walking in Finland's Second Largest Swamp." In the video, he led viewers to explore this area which had been officially closed. Now, this video has become the last image he left to the world, with over 143,000 views, and a large number of fans have flooded the comments section to express their condolences and thank him for the pure and peaceful natural scenery he had brought them.
Currently, relevant authorities have not yet confirmed whether Ali was recording his hike through the Kasivare wilderness with his camera when he passed away. Ali had repeatedly stated that hiking was not only a hobby for him, but also a way of life, a lifelong belief, and he always enjoyed spending time with nature.
