Woman Drives High-Clearance Pickup Truck Over Lamborghini, Losses May Exceed $100,000
On the 22nd of this month, an unexpected accident occurred in a parking lot in Lake Nona, Florida: a woman driving a modified, high-clearance Chevrolet Silverado pickup truck ran over a Lamborghini Huracán reversing in front of her due to a severe blind spot, causing damage potentially reaching $100,000. The entire incident was captured on dashcam footage and quickly went viral on social media.

It is reported that the Lamborghini belongs to Cuban-American entrepreneur Ramon Ferrer, who was slowly reversing to find a parking space when the woman's pickup truck sped towards him. Due to the significantly raised chassis and oversized off-road tires, she had no visibility of the low-slung supercar in front of her.
The three-ton pickup truck easily ran over the front of the Lamborghini, crushing the hood, front bumper, windshield, and roof. Fortunately, no one was injured.
Witnesses said the female driver appeared shocked when she got out of the car, seemingly unaware that she had collided with another vehicle.
The core of the accident lies in the extreme height difference between the two vehicles. The Lamborghini Huracán has a height of only about 1.16 meters, while the modified Silverado pickup truck has a ground clearance of more than 60 centimeters. Combined with the raised suspension and large hood, this created a fatal forward blind spot.
In recent years, the trend of modifying pickup trucks in the United States has continued to heat up. Many owners have excessively raised the vehicle body in pursuit of appearance and off-road performance, but have ignored the safety risks this brings. Experts point out that these heavily modified "high-clearance pickup trucks" have poor visibility of low-lying vehicles and pedestrians in low-speed environments, and have become a major hidden danger to road safety in the United States.
