Driver's Over-Reliance on Assisted Driving Leads to Dangerous Wrong-Way Driving on Highway, Resulting in Fine and Points Deduction
Regardless of how vendors promote it, assisted driving at this stage is merely an aid and still requires human supervision and management during use; it should not be left unattended. According to a notification from "Hunan Highway Traffic Police," on April 19th at approximately 9:00 PM, Zhou drove his car onto the main highway in the wrong direction after charging at the Jinshiqiao service area on the Hubai Expressway, nearly colliding with oncoming vehicles before swerving to avoid a crash, and then turning back into the service area.

According to the investigation, after charging at the Jinshiqiao service area, Zhou activated the vehicle's assisted driving mode and prepared to continue his journey. Unexpectedly, the assisted driving system's route deviated, guiding the vehicle to enter the main highway in the wrong direction from the service area entrance ramp.
He fully trusted the "assisted driving" at the time, believing the system would automatically correct the direction, until an oncoming vehicle approached and he narrowly avoided a head-on collision, at which point he reacted and took control of the vehicle to swerve.
Police were puzzled, asking how he didn't notice the reversed arrows on the road. Zhou stated that he had always trusted assisted driving, originally believing it would plan the route, but it did not…
Fortunately, this dangerous behavior did not result in serious consequences. Police severely criticized and educated Zhou, and provided safety education. They imposed a fine of 200 yuan for his illegal act of driving the wrong way on the highway, and deducted 12 points from his driver's license.
