Valve’s New Steam Controller Exposed: TMR Joysticks Eliminate Drift, Quad-Motor Haptic Feedback Maxed Out
Valve’s new Steam game controller was prematurely leaked on the page of its official distributor, Komodo, revealing complete product details. The page was quickly taken down, but screenshots were saved, including a hands-on video showcasing the controller’s grip and mass-produced appearance.

This controller was initially announced in November 2025 and is part of Valve’s next-generation hardware ecosystem, providing exclusive control support for the Steam console. In terms of compatibility, it is universally compatible with desktops, laptops, Steam Deck handhelds, and Steam Frame devices.
The controller’s core controls have been significantly upgraded, featuring a new generation of TMR (Tunnel Magnetoresistance) magnetic attraction joysticks. Utilizing quantum magnetic field sensing technology, it fundamentally eliminates the issue of joystick drift.
Compared to traditional potentiometer joysticks and mainstream Hall effect joysticks, TMR joysticks comprehensively surpass them in precision, boasting advantages such as high precision, high durability, and low power consumption. It is reported that its calibration level is comparable to the GameSir G7 Pro, enabling deviation-free circular control.
The sense of feel and vibration experience are also highlights. The controller features four independent motors, supporting complex waveform calculations to achieve refined vibration and full-area haptic feedback.
The connection options offer three modes: USB wired, 2.4G wireless, and Bluetooth 4.3. The entire device weighs 292 grams and measures 111 x 159 x 57 millimeters. The hands-on video shows its ergonomic design is mature, and the button layout is reasonable.
In terms of battery life, wireless mode can continuously be used for up to 35 hours. The charging method is unique, featuring an exclusive magnetic charging base that can directly attach to the back of the controller for charging, while also integrating wireless transceiver functionality.
In addition, the controller is equipped with two 34.5mm touchpads with haptic feedback, a high-precision gyroscope, and two additional capacitive touch buttons on the back, expanding customizable operation space. The official price and release date have not yet been announced.
