During the recent launch event for Huawei's new flagship Pura90 series, a photo of Richard Yu during a break sparked discussion, with some netizens accusing him of "being a diva." Notably, Yu rarely missed the Huawei Spring All-Scenario New Product Launch Conference in March. At the time, He Gang, CEO of Huawei's Consumer BG, stated, "Mr. Yu has arrived in Changsha, but he is feeling unwell and unable to attend the scene, so I will introduce the new HarmonyOS Kirin products this time."
He Gang admitted that this was also his first time launching HarmonyOS Kirin new products, and he asked for guidance from everyone on areas where his presentation might be lacking, thanking everyone for their understanding.
Last night, blogger "Electric Vehicle Xiaofei" released a video taken at the 2026 Beijing Auto Show, revealing the underlying reason.
In the video, CATL Chairman Zeng Yuqun inquired about Richard Yu's health, to which he replied, "Much better, but my bones were fractured and don't bend well."
The blogger stated that Yu accidentally fell in Changsha during heavy rain, and the fall was quite severe.
"How malicious some people can be! I truly feel sorry for Mr. Yu. He's almost 60 years old, and he fractured his bones. He spoke at the launch event for two hours and then rushed to the auto show. Yet, people are still frantically slandering him because of a single photo."
