Rumor-Monger Who Spread False Claims About Lei Jun Blocked in Car to Protest Has Been Arrested
Xiaomi spokesperson announced today that the company has noticed a user named Li Mouhua spreading fabricated rumors about the company and its founder, Lei Jun, in WeChat groups. Following a police report, authorities quickly investigated and apprehended the perpetrator. Li Mouhua has been sentenced to ten days of administrative detention for intentionally spreading rumors and disrupting public order.

We always respect and accept suggestions and supervision from all walks of life, but the internet is not a place beyond the law. We will take legal action to defend our rights against the act of spreading false information and deliberately slandering Xiaomi and Mr. Lei Jun’s reputation.
Other media reports indicate that the user who spread the rumor that Lei Jun was blocked in his car to protest during Xiaomi's new SU7 Beijing-Shanghai range challenge is Li Mouhua.
Earlier reports showed that Xiaomi Group's PR General Manager, Xu Jieyun, stated that the claim was a rumor.
Xu Jieyun also stated: "We had just parked in the rest area, and Mr. Lei was recording the mileage and energy consumption data from the previous segment in the car. I was sitting in the back seat, and there were so many car friends present at the scene."
“We will absolutely not tolerate such malicious acts of fabricating rumors out of thin air. Those who fabricate and maliciously spread rumors can expect consequences.”
