Steam Controller Review Video Released Early, Official Retail Price Unexpectedly Revealed
Review content for an upcoming Steam controller broke media embargo, unexpectedly revealing the official retail price of the gamepad. YouTube blogger TechyTalk violated the review embargo for the new Steam controller and released a full review video earlier today.

The video was subsequently set to private and is no longer publicly viewable. However, subscribers quickly took screenshots of the video, title, and even recorded the complete review content, revealing the retail price of the Steam controller before the official announcement.
According to this review content, the official retail price of the Steam controller is $99, which is higher than the original controllers for the Sony PS5, Microsoft Xbox Series X|S, and Nintendo Switch 2 Pro.
Recently, the Komodo Station website launched the official product page for the Steam controller, indicating that Valve's new controller is nearing release. In addition, industry blogger SadlyItsBradley revealed that Valve has "secretly" uploaded an unboxing video for the Steam controller, which is currently unavailable for viewing, further suggesting that the controller will be released soon.
For players unfamiliar with the product, the new Steam controller features a completely redesigned appearance and is equipped with the latest magnetic levitation joysticks and haptic feedback technology. Its TMR magnetic levitation joysticks achieve near-zero drift and support capacitive touch sensing; the dual pressure-sensitive touchpads replicate mouse-level precision control. The newly added grip sensing input and gyro-assisted aiming further enhance control accuracy, and the four customizable grip buttons provide players with more personalized settings.
In terms of connectivity, the controller has been fully upgraded through the Steam Controller Puck, a low-latency 2.4GHz transmitter that also functions as a magnetic charging base, achieving an ultra-low latency of approximately 8 milliseconds and a battery life of over 35 hours. The controller also supports Bluetooth and USB-C connections and is compatible with Windows, macOS, Linux systems, as well as the Steam Deck handheld, Steam Machine host, and Steam Frame devices.
