On the Steam platform, at least 120 users own over 20,000 games, with three users exceeding 40,000 games in their libraries. The global record holder is a player from Shanghai nicknamed “Sonix.”
According to SteamDB data, Sonix has cumulatively purchased 43,085 games over the past 15 years. Estimated at current retail prices, his game library is worth nearly 5.1269 million yuan. On average, he needs to continuously purchase about 7 games per day, year-round.
Surprisingly, in his vast game library, the most favored is not a costly AAA title or niche indie gem, but a free cooperative shooter released by Valve in 2010 – *Alien Swarm*. Sonix has played this game for 551 hours and has unlocked all achievements.
