Domestic DDR5 Sees First Major Price Drop: 34% Decrease Still Five Times More Expensive Than Before
Domestic 16GB DDR5 SO-DIMM laptop-specific memory has experienced its first significant price drop this year. According to digital blogger Gu Cheng Hardware, Lenovo's 16GB DDR5-5600 laptop memory has been reduced from 1759 yuan to 1159 yuan, a single drop of 600 yuan, an overall price reduction of 34%, and a new price low for the year.

However, DDR5 prices remain severely inflated at this stage. Compared to the domestic market price in June 2023, the same memory was only sold for 246 yuan at that time. Even with this significant price drop, the price is still nearly five times higher than it was then.
Internationally, the global memory market has seen volatile price trends recently, with prices fluctuating in different regions, and only a few products experiencing price drops.
The Japanese market has seen price easing: a 64GB DDR5 memory kit fell below 77,912 yen (approximately 3,339 yuan) for the first time in four months. In addition, memory prices in many parts of Asia have begun to show a slight downward trend.
DDR5 memory in the German market experienced its first round of price cuts in March, but prices rebounded again in April after a few weeks.
Currently, in the vast majority of regions worldwide, DDR5 memory prices are still 4 to 5 times higher than before the price surge, and the overall high-price trend has not been reversed.
