Apple to Launch Two New "Ultra" Products Next Year
Macworld reports that Apple plans to add two new hardware products to the "Ultra" brand lineup within the next year, further strengthening its high-end product line layout. Sources say Apple's first foldable screen iPhone will be officially named "iPhone Ultra" and positioned as the top-end model in the entire iPhone product lineup.

The news indicates that the "iPhone Ultra" will not be considered part of the iPhone 18 series, even though it will launch alongside the iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone 18 Pro Max. This strategy is similar to the current "iPhone Air," which does not belong to the iPhone 17 series. Apple's internal plan is to launch this foldable phone as close as possible to the iPhone 18 Pro launch window, but it does not rule out the possibility of a slight delay of a few weeks and relatively tight supply in the early stages.
In addition to the foldable iPhone, Apple also plans to launch a new "MacBook Ultra" later this year or early 2027. This product will feature an OLED display and support touch operation, and will be positioned above the existing MacBook Pro, with a price expected to be significantly higher than current MacBook Pro models. Apple originally planned to release the device earlier this year, but its launch has reportedly been delayed by several months due to a shortage in the memory supply chain.
Currently, Apple widely uses the "Ultra" brand in its chips and wearables product lines, including the M series Ultra chips, Apple Watch Ultra, and CarPlay Ultra. Previous leaks suggested that the foldable iPhone and OLED MacBook would adopt the "Ultra" naming scheme, and this route is now largely further confirmed. Furthermore, Bloomberg previously mentioned that Apple is also considering launching new high-end audio products such as "AirPods Ultra" to add more members to the "Ultra" family.
