55-Year-Old Player Posts Tribute to Deceased Daughter: "Signalis" is My Spiritual Healing
Amidst various speculations and controversies surrounding "Signalis" on social media, a real story shared by a 55-year-old player on Reddit has touched many netizens. User TheRealDuke posted that his 8-year-old daughter, Mackenzie Eileen, passed away in 2009 due to a severe heart condition. It was his 9-year-old daughter, Ella, who brought him back to the world of gaming after 30 years away. They played several games together until they encountered "Signalis."

During gameplay, Ella first noticed the resemblance between the protagonist Diana and old photos of her sister. The father stated that the virtual character's facial features and mannerisms were extremely similar to both of his daughters. He posted a collage demonstrating the similarities visually.
He wrote in his post, “I may have been a little choked up playing the game. I genuinely love this game, and the time Ella and I spent together. Signalis is truly a healing for my soul.” He added that although the gaming process was emotionally difficult, it helped him accept the loss of his daughter.
The post received approximately ten thousand positive interactions within a few days. Many netizens expressed condolences and support for the father in the comments, and pointed out that this case once again proves the potential value of video games in psychological healing.
