Tencent Increases Stake in Game Science, Holding 24% and Becoming the Sole External Investor
Recently, Game Science completed an equity adjustment, with Hero Games exiting the shareholder ranks. Tencent increased its stake to 24%, becoming the only external investor. This increase follows Tencent's initial 5% stake in early 2021 and the acquisition of Hero Games' 19% stake, officially registered recently.

Sources say that after this industrial and commercial change, Tencent will continue to fully respect creativity, and Game Science will remain independently operated.
It is understood that Game Science was founded by Feng Ji and other core members of Tencent's "Warriors of the Three Kingdoms" team, and is a leading high-quality game development company in China. Its "Black Myth: Wukong" is a phenomenal domestic 3A title.
On August 20, 2024, the game officially launched on PC and PS5 platforms. Within three days of release, sales across all platforms exceeded 10 million copies, breaking Chinese game history records.
In addition, Wu Dan, founder of Hero Interactive Entertainment, also officially withdrew from the executive records of Game Science on April 30th.
As of now, Feng Ji, founder of Game Science, directly holds 38.76% of the shares, making him the company's largest shareholder.
