Rockstar's New Hiring Hints at a Remake of "Max Payne 3"?
Rumors of a return for Rockstar's classic "Max Payne 3" are heating up again. The studio has posted a job listing for developers to work on "updating classic video games." Previously circulating leaks, particularly from reliable sources like Tez2, suggest the company plans to re-release many of its popular titles from the HD era.

Here's what is currently known:
Release Format: Leakers speculate that "Max Payne 3" could be released as a standalone "Definitive Edition" or included in a large-scale trilogy collection. Considering the controversial but ultimately successful remake of "GTA Trilogy," Rockstar clearly sees the potential in revitalizing its older IPs.
PlayStation Platform Issue: The original "Max Payne 3" from 2012 is currently playable on Steam and Xbox (through backward compatibility), but PS4 and PS5 players have no native way to play the game. A remake is the only opportunity to bring the series back to Sony platforms.
Connection with Remedy: The industry's main focus is currently on the complete remake of "Max Payne 1 & 2" being developed by Remedy Entertainment. It's reasonable to assume that Rockstar would want to "pave the way," or release a remake of the third installment around the time of the first and second game remakes, allowing players to experience the entire Max Payne story.
Studio Priorities: It's important to remember that Rockstar currently has all its main resources focused on "GTA 6." The fate of these classic game remakes will likely remain unclear until the release window of this massive title, or after the release of the Remedy-developed remakes.
Despite the lack of official announcements, the new job postings, combined with the gap on the PlayStation platform, suggest that the release of a "Max Payne 3" remake is only a matter of time.
