New Mercedes-Benz GLS Spy Photos Revealed: Expected to Launch in China in 2027 with Significant Front-End Changes
Recent spy photos have revealed a facelifted version of the new Mercedes-Benz GLS. The new model is expected to launch overseas at the end of 2026 and be introduced to China in 2027. The most significant changes visible in the exposed images are concentrated on the front end. The headlights adopt a new "dual-star emblem" design, incorporating star-shaped light sources that significantly enhance recognition when illuminated, and are equipped with an illuminated central three-pointed star emblem and optional illuminated grille surround.

High-end models also feature a "Stardust Surround" grille, a dot matrix structure composed of 216 independent chrome accents, creating a galaxy-like lighting atmosphere, while the front bumper has also been optimized.
The side profile still maintains the classic large SUV silhouette of the GLS, with straight rooflines and waistlines ensuring a spacious interior. The roof rack and large multi-spoke wheels continue the model's luxurious presence.
The new car also adds a variety of paint color options, including Obsidian Black, Crystal Silver, and Emerald Green.
The changes to the rear are equally striking, featuring a through-type three-dimensional taillight sourced from the new E-Class, incorporating the three-pointed star element.
Inside, the new car is upgraded to the MBUX Superscreen ultra-wide screen, consisting of a 12.3-inch instrument cluster, a 14-inch central control screen, and a 14-inch passenger screen, paired with an in-car AI virtual assistant, seat vibration massage, a rear independent entertainment system, and a new steering wheel. The driver assistance system has also been updated.
In terms of power, the new car offers a 3.0T inline six-cylinder + 48V mild hybrid system, as well as a new 4.0T twin-turbo flat-crank V8 engine, and is standard with E-ACTIVE BODY CONTROL predictive air suspension.
