New Steam Console on the Way? Valve Imports Nearly 50 Tons of Game Consoles to the US in Two Days
US import records show that Valve shipped approximately 50 tons of goods classified as "Game Consoles" to the US between April 30th and May 1st, sparking speculation about the upcoming launch of its next-generation hardware products – including the rumored Steam Machine or Steam Frame.

Following the recent 2025 Christmas holiday, Valve’s logistics transportation slowed down noticeably, but it began to accelerate again starting in March of this year. In the past two months alone, nearly 100 tons of products have arrived in the US. During this period, several cargo ships named Ever Logic, Ever Shine, and others departed from China, docking at Los Angeles and Tacoma in the US, transporting a total of 10 40-foot containers with a combined gross weight of 127,228 kilograms (approximately 140 US tons).
Notably, this large-scale shipment of "Game Consoles" is likely not just additional restocking of the Steam Deck handheld. Valve previously classified the Steam Deck as a "Game Console" in its import declarations, but the weight of these containers differs significantly from previous shipments, seen as a signal that Valve is stocking up on a completely new hardware product. The article points out that these machines are very likely the long-rumored Steam Machine, based on the new generation SteamOS ecosystem, or Steam Frame devices related to VR and streaming, and not just normal restocking of existing products.
Looking at historical records, Valve typically loads a maximum of 42 packaged units into each 40-foot container in the past few years, with a stable total gross weight of around 14,500 kilograms (approximately 32,000 pounds). This means that after deducting the tare weight of the empty container, which exceeds 3,700 kilograms, the actual cargo weight has a relatively fixed range, providing a reference for comparing new and old shipments. The total weight in this record is different from the previous pattern, and is therefore interpreted as "the boxes contain something different," meaning new hardware specifications, accessory combinations, or a completely different product line.
Currently, Valve has not publicly confirmed the specific release schedule for the Steam Machine, and the details of related products, such as pricing and configuration, have not yet been officially announced. However, before the latest round of shipping records were exposed, well-known Valve observer Brad Lynch mentioned last week that there were signs of Valve’s large-scale shipments in customs and freight data. Now, combined with this shipment of nearly 50 tons of "Game Consoles" entering the country in a concentrated two-day period, the industry generally believes that the key hardware of Valve’s so-called "next-generation Steam hardware universe" may have entered the final stages of mass production and global distribution.
